Skill Levels
In the New Year we will be working towards swimmers taking some grades either preliminary, recreational or Skill levels. For those who are not familiar with these please read on!
Preliminary grades are starter levels designed to test basic techniques in the water.
Recreational Grades 1-5 are designed for swimmers who do not want to compete at high levels. These are examined in Club and include a routine and some more advanced skills.
Skill Levels 1-5 are designed for swimmers wanting to compete at high levels, they can only be taken at designated Assessment days and Centres throughout the Country and cost £ 10.00 to enter. These are advanced tests requiring a high level of flexibility, discipline and variety of techniques.
NB All swimmers can choose which type of tests they want to do or even a combination of both or none.
As Coaches we can advise which tests are appropriate but we would like to know from the swimmers and parents which they would like to do.
